The Tetons

Wyoming USA

Paying homage to one of America's greatest landscape photographers, Ansel Adams,

I tried to echo the scene Ansel had captured 75 years earlier and integrate the beauty of the night sky.

The original vantage point however was no longer accessible to the general public

.... it is likely both the river and vegetaion had changed over the best part of 100 years.

That said, the location is still sublime.

The planet Jupiter can be seen setting at the extreme left of frame.

Two small lights can be seen on Grand Teton.

They marked the presence of some intrepid climbers who were there for the night.

Grand Teton national park was also more populated with campers than usual,

as a total solar eclipse had transited the location on the morning this image was captured.
