The Sun at Perihelion and Apehelion 2025
The above combined image was taken within a day of
the Earth's Perhilion on 4 January 2025 AEST (negative lower half) and Apehelion on 4 July 2025 AEST (positve upper half)
The same telescope, filter and camera were used to capture the Sun's chromosphere
on each occasion, clearly showing the change in the Sun's angular size due
the 5 million kilometre change in distance from the Earth to the Sun between the respecitve dates.
